The relationship between teachers' disciplinary practices and school bullying and students' satisfaction with school: The moderated mediation effects of sex and school belonging. An authoritative school climate, along with greater teacher support and warm relations among peers are frequently connected with less school bullying. The main aim of this paper is to examine the direct link as perceived of School Membership Scale at a single time point. In general, teachers' disciplinary practices have significant direct effects on perceptions of bullying and satisfaction with school. Positive disciplinary (direct effect = .28, SE = .04) and SEL techniques (direct effect = .22, SE = .04) are related to bullying only among males, while punitive techniques are directly linked to school bullying unrelated

The indirect effects of school bullying on mathematics achievement: the mediating roles of teacher-student relationships, sense of belonging and differences between genders. Previous research paid more attention to the negative effects of the bullying on psychological distress, such as anxiety and depression. However, few studies explored the underlying mechanism between bullying and mathematics achievement. The purpose of this study was to explore the direct and indirect effects of school bullying on mathematics achievement among Chinese eighth grade students. A two-stage stratified sample design was used to select participants. The participants were all eighth grade students from a city of southwest China and 17,527 adolescents (51.7% boys, M = 13.34 ± 0.56 years) were included in this study

Association of sedentary time with school bullying among adolescents in 74 countries: A population-based study. Numerous studies have demonstrated the association between sedentary behavior and bullying among adolescents. However, few have explored the "dose-response" relationship between the frequency of sedentary behavior and school bullying. We aimed to evaluate the "dose-response " relationship between leisure sedentary time and school bullying among adolescents. We used data from the most recent Global School-based Student Health Survey (GSHS), conducted between 2009 and 2019 from 74 countries. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was employed to investigate the association between leisure sedentary time and school bullying. A total of 222,172 adolescents aged 12-17 years from

Association between different types of school bullying and premenstrual disorders: A cross-sectional analysis of 10,042 girls. School bullying is associated with premenstrual disorders (PMDs) in adulthood, but its relationship with PMDs in adolescent girls needs further investigation. We analyzed 10,042 menstruating girls for PMDs using the modified version of Calendar of Premenstrual Experiences and the Delaware Bullying Victimization Scale-Student for school bullying. Multivariable logistic regression revealed the associations between school bullying and PMDs, including premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and more severe form - premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). Besides, we performed stratified analyses by adding interaction terms between bullying and depression, anxiety, and post

Exposure to childhood parental bereavement and risk of school bullying victimization. Parental bereavement is detrimental to youth mental health, yet its potential impact on youth bullying remains unknown. We aimed to examine the association of early exposure to parental death with school bullying victimization, and further assess whether youth's age when bereavement occurred, sex , girls, youth from rural areas, and those who experienced bereavement at older ages were more likely to experience bullying victimization. Maternal death was associated with elevated risk of bullying victimization among youth with parental death at older ages, boys, and youth from urban areas. Early exposure to parental bereavement increased the risk of school bullying victimization and frequent

Social poverty indicators with school bullying victimization: evidence from the global school-based student health survey (GSHS). School bullying is prevalent in children and adolescents. Bullying victims are seen higher risk of negative psychological outcomes. Previously published studies suggested that social indicators may pose significant influence on bullying victimization. However , the association between social poverty and bullying victimization has not been exclusively discussed. In this cross-sectional study, we analyzed the association between 6 commonly used social poverty indicators (Poverty Headcount Ratio, PHR; Poverty Gap, PG; Squared Poverty Gap, SPG; monthly household per capita income, PCI; Watts' Poverty Index, WPI; the Gini Index, Gini) and the prevalence of school bullying

Associations of vegetable and fruit intake, physical activity, and school bullying with depressive symptoms in secondary school students: the mediating role of internet addiction. Few studies have simultaneously focused on the associations of vegetable and fruit intake, physical activity, school bullying, and Internet addiction (IA) with depressive symptoms. This study aimed to explore with depressive symptoms as the endogenous latent variable, IA as the mediating variable, and vegetable and fruit intake, physical activity, and school bullying as the exogenous latent variables. The standardized path coefficients (β) were the direct effects between the latent variables, and the indirect effects were obtained by the product of direct effects between relevant latent variables. School bullying among Chinese third to fifth grade primary school students in a cross-sectional study: The protective effect of psychological resilience. School bullying is a major concern for school-aged youth and has great impacts on children's health and well-being, and an increasing number of school bullying cases have been reported in China. Many studies have indicated that psychological resilience may have a well-established association with school bullying. However, only a limited number of studies have explored this association, especially among primary school students. The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between school bullying and psychological resilience among primary school students from a Chinese city. The participants were 6,011 primary school students aged 7

Childhood maltreatment and parenting style associated school bullying in Chinese children and adolescents: An analytical epidemiology evidence. The independent associations among childhood maltreatment (CM), parenting style, and school bullying in children and adolescents have not been adequately discussed. Epidemiological evidence of higher quality is still scarce. We intend to investigate risk of school bullying involvement, with adjusted odds ratio (OR) of 2.28 (95 % CI: 2.03, 2.57) and 1.90 (95 % CI: 1.67, 2.17). Subsequent analysis further corroborated the robustness of EA-bullying and SA-bullying associations. Although parenting style generally showed a weaker association with school bullying, a higher level of parental rejection was related to an increased risk of bullying

Social indicators were prominent associated factors of serious injury and bullying victimization in vulnerable adolescents. The results emphasize the importance of social environment when developing intervention measures to address injury and bullying among disadvantaged teenagers.

Resilience mediates parenting style associated school bullying victimization in Chinese children and adolescents. Existing evidence has shown that negative parenting style elevates the risk of school bullying victimization in children and adolescents. Resilience may play as a mediating factor in this association. However, this hypothesis has not been investigated. In this cross-sectional study rejection were significantly associated with school bullying victimization. Path analysis revealed a statistically significant mediation of resilience in the association between parental rejection and bullying victimization, and among the five dimensions of resilience, emotion regulation, family support and interpersonal assistance accounted for the highest proportions of mediation.
