A Randomized Controlled Comparison of Guardian-Perceived Cosmetic Outcome of Simple Lacerations Repaired With Either Dermabond, Steri-Strips, or Absorbable Sutures.
Validation of the STERIS Amsco 630LS steam sterilizer autoclave for inactivation of category a medical waste from patients with high-consequence infectious diseases. Hospitals caring for patients with high-consequence pathogens may need to safely manage large volumes of category A waste. Using biological indicators to assess for successful sterilization, autoclave cycle parameters that would inactivate 4 categories of waste were identified and validated utilizing a STERIS Amsco 630LS Steam Sterilizer.
Steri-strip(TM) versus subcuticular skin closure of paediatric groin wounds: A randomised study. A technique that offers the best chance of an optimal result is most appropriate to be employed for wound closure. We set out to compare the cosmetic outcome, and wound complication rates associated with clean paediatric groin wounds closed using Steri-Strip™ or subcuticular suturing. A prospective randomised study. Children of African descent with unilateral and bilateral clean groin wounds were randomised into subcuticular suture skin closure and Steri-Strip™ groups and followed up postoperatively. Cosmetic assessment and outcome were scored based on parents' satisfaction using the visual analogue scale (VAS) and a single Plastic Surgeon assessed pictures of the scars using the Hollander Wound
The Effect of Steri-Strip Dressing on Patients' Satisfaction and Reduction of Ecchymosis in Lower Eyelid, Malar and Cheek Following Rhinoplasty. Early postoperative edema and ecchymosis are the most common factors to complicate initial patient perceptions about rhinoplasty. The current study was conducted to determine the effects of longer steri-strip tape on patient malar and cheek in terms of ecchymosis control and reduction. Through a randomized controlled clinical trial, 64 patients who underwent rhinoplasty were randomly enrolled. One side of the patients' face was randomly selected for different experience of dressing while the main intervention was different length of tape and steri-strip dressing. In one group, the right side and in the rest, the left side of face was applied with steri
Contained morcellation using the GelPOINT advance access platforms and 3M Steri-Drape endobag. To report a technique that safely allows power and hand morcellation for laparoscopic hysterectomy and myomectomy specimens in a contained fashion in the event of unsuspected uterine sarcoma or leiomyosarcoma. Video article introducing a method for enclosed tissue morcellation for laparoscopic Platform and a 50 cm × 50 cm 3M Steri-Drape endobag for enclosed intracorporeal and extracorporeal tissue morcellation of laparoscopic specimens. For training purposes, we used a pelvic simulator and cadaver to describe the step-by-step process and troubleshoot issues to optimize intra- and extracorporeal morcellation. This allowed for easier implementation on the live patient. Simulation training
Steri-strips for Reducing Radial Artery Compression Duration The duration of radial artery compression with the use of steri-strips may become much shorter than the duration of using the conventional pneumatic TR band alone for achieving hemostasis. Consequently, the frequency of radial artery occlusion (RAO) will be much lower and post procedure patency of radial artery will be higher along with significant alleviation of pain duration.Steri-strips is a kind of sterile adhesive tape used to approximate the clean and superficial wound or surgical incision as an alternate of stitch. Its ability to keep the radial puncture site incision approximated will lead to lesser chances of platelet plug disruption or displacement at the entry site and will hasten the process of hemostasis. The use of steri
Aesthetic Effect of Steri-Strip Orientation on Healing and Scar Appearance in Breast Surgery All patients undergoing breast biopsy, lumpectomy, needle-localization-guided breast biopsy, and mastectomy at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia, Einstein Medical Center Montgomery, Center One, or Einstein Elkins Park will be offered participation into the study. Patients who have documented allergies at the time of operation with either in-line or perpendicular placement of Steri-Strips based on the patient's computer-generated randomization assignment. The patient's chart will be reviewed to determine the patient's age and comorbid conditions including obesity (pre-operative BMI), diabetes mellitus, use of anti-platelet or anticoagulant medication, or smoking. This information will be utilized
Cesarean Wound Closure: Dermabond Versus Steri Strips The purpose of this study is to determine overall patient satisfaction with their cesarean section scar with application of Steri-strips vs. Dermabond following subcuticular skin closure of pfannenstiel incision undefined
studies compared NPWT (delivered by any mode, or simple closed-system suction drainage; continuously or intermittently over any time period and at any pressure) with standard dressings (gauze, silver or iodine-impregnated dressings, steri-strips). Most studies was judged by Cochrane authors to have unclear or high risk of bias for at least one key domain. The results showed
