Exacerbation-prone pediatric asthma is associated with arginine, lysine, methionine pathway alterations. Some children with asthma remain poorly controlled and have recurrent exacerbations despite treatment with inhaled corticosteroids. Aside from prior exacerbations, there are currently no reliable predictors of exacerbation-prone asthma in these children and limited understanding of potential analysis identified arginine, lysine, and methionine pathways as most impacted. Several plasma metabolites are perturbed in children with exacerbation-prone asthma and are largely related to arginine, lysine, and methionine pathways. While validation is needed, plasma metabolites may be potential biomarkers for exacerbation-prone asthma in children.

The Arginine/Lysine-Rich Element within the DNA-Binding Domain Is Essential for Nuclear Localization and Function of the Intracellular Pathogen Resistance 1. The mouse intracellular pathogen resistance 1 (Ipr1) gene plays important roles in mediating host immunity and previous work showed that it enhances macrophage apoptosis upon mycobacterium infection. However, to date, little is known about mediates the targeting of Ipr1 protein to nuclear dots (NDs). Moreover, we found that an Ipr1 mutant lacking the classic nuclear localization signal (cNLS) also translocated into the nuclei, suggesting that the cNLS is not the only factor that directs Ipr1 nuclear localization. Additionally, mechanistic studies revealed that an arginine/lysine-rich element within the DNA-binding domain (SAND domain

Preclinical studies, including ex vivo biodistribution, SPECT/CT, and PET analyses, were performed in Wistar rats to evaluate how coinjection of a paraaminohippurate solution affects the renal uptake of various radiopharmaceuticals compared with coinjection of a NaCl or arginine-lysine solution. Paraaminohippurate was well tolerated, with no toxicity observed

of argininelysine formulations may be preferred due to improved tolerability; however, due to licensing requirements and compounding regulations, compounded argininelysine formulations may not be available at many institutions. When using the compounded argininelysine solution, it should be infused at a rate of 250 mL/h for 4 h, commencing 30 min before the treatment with the radiopharmaceutical may also be beneficial to help with the possible side effects of the amino acid solution infusion. Patient education is highly important at the beginning of the procedure to ensure the patient understands the importance of where and how to contain emesis under these circumstances. Patients receiving compounded argininelysine generally require only a 5-HT3 antagonist as prophylactic medication

Human CENP-C has two related DHBDs that bind preferentially to DNA sequences of higher AT content. Our findings suggest that a DNA composition-based mechanism together with residues characteristic for the CENP-A histone variant contribute to the specification of centromere identity.
