Pulmonary benign metastasizing leiomyoma presenting as acute hypoxemic respiratory failure: a case report. Pulmonary benign metastasizing leiomyoma is an uncommon condition, predominantly affecting women of childbearing age with a history of uterine smooth muscle tumors and uterine leiomyoma surgery for uterine leiomyoma. The progression of PBML is often unpredictable and depends on the extent

Pulmonary benign metastasizing leiomyoma in patients aged 45 years and younger: clinical features and novelty in treatment. Pulmonary benign metastasizing leiomyoma (PBML) is the most common extrauterine spread of uterine leiomyoma, and its biological behavior is traditionally thought to be hormone dependent. Studies on older PBML patients have been previously reported, but limited literature

A Liposarcoma Arising in a Pulmonary Hamartoma, Coexisting With Benign Metastasizing Leiomyoma. Pulmonary hamartoma is a common benign tumor that rarely degenerates into malignancy. This report documents a unique case of pulmonary hamartoma with malignant transformation into well-differentiated liposarcoma, coexisting in proximity to pulmonary nodules representing benign metastasizing leiomyoma

The Heart as a Site of Metastasis of Benign Metastasizing Leiomyoma: Case Report and Review of the Literature Uterine leiomyomas are the most common gynecological tumors in premenopausal women. While the lung is the most common extrauterine organ afflicted, benign metastasizing leiomyomas (BML) of the heart are rarities. We report an incidental finding of a cardiac mass in a 36-year-old woman

Pulmonary benign metastasizing leiomyoma: A case report Uterine leiomyoma is the most common benign gynecological tumor. Rarely, it has benign extra-uterine growth patterns, including benign metastasizing leiomyoma (BML), with lungs being the most common metastatic site. We present a case of a 47-year-old female who, 3 years prior to presentation, underwent abdominal supra-cervical hysterectomy

Pelvic and pulmonary benign metastasizing leiomyoma: A case report Seven years after she had a total abdominal hysterectomy for benign leiomyomas, a 46-year-old woman presented with a pelvic mass and multiple pulmonary nodules. She underwent resection of the mass and core needle biopsy of a pulmonary lesion. Histopathologic analysis revealed that both the pelvic and the pulmonary lesions were consistent with benign leiomyomas. Benign metastasizing leiomyoma should be considered if a woman of reproductive age and with a history of leiomyomas presents with extrauterine nodules without evidence of malignancy. The final diagnosis should be based on histopathological examination. Treatment depends on tumor size, location, receptor positivity, and disease progression.

Benign metastasizing leiomyoma presenting as multiple cystic pulmonary nodules: a case report. Benign metastatic leiomyoma (BML) is an extremely rare disease. Although uterine leiomyomas are benign histologically, they can metastasize to distant sites. While the incidence is very low, the lung is the organ most frequently affected by BML. Pulmonary BML usually presents as numerous well-defined

Malignant Transformation of Pulmonary Benign Metastasizing Leiomyoma Pulmonary benign metastasizing leiomyoma (PBML) is defined as metastasis of a leiomyoma to lung tissue. It was first reported in 1937. P BML is known as a benign disease, but can undergo malignant transformation. Only 1 case of the malignant transformation of PBML to leiomyosarcoma has been reported previously. In this report

Benign Metastasizing Leiomyoma. Benign metastasizing leiomyoma (BML) is a rare and poorly characterized disease affecting primarily premenopausal women. Asymptomatic patients are often diagnosed incidentally by radiographs or other lung-imaging procedures performed for other indications, and the diagnosis is eventually confirmed by biopsy. Patients with BML are usually treated pharmacologically

Benign metastasizing leiomyomas in the lungs: a case study Benign metastasizing leiomyoma (BML) is a rare disease that occurs in middle-aged women with a history of uterine myomas. The most common location of BML is the lungs. We report the case of a 44-year-old obese woman (BMI 45.5) who underwent surgery to remove uterine leiomyomata and then continued to take a drug containing the hormone estradiol for a period of 15 years. Computed tomography chest examinations revealed multiple size nodules of varying size in both lungs. Videothoracoscopy and right thoracotomy was performed, and a few nodules were enucleated from each lobe of the right lung. Postoperative histopathological examination revealed benign metastasizing leiomyoma staining positive for estrogen and progesterone receptors (ER
