                            An ecological study of the spatiotemporal dynamics and drivers of domestically acquired campylobacteriosis in Ireland, 2011-2018. In 2021, Campylobacteriosis was the main gastrointestinal disease in the European Union since 2007 according to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control. In the Republic of Ireland, the incidence of the disease is particularly high with approximately 3,000 cases per annum, raising significant concerns for national health authorities with an expected increase in the number of cases in the light of climate change.                             Campylobacteriosis Outbreak Linked to Municipal Water, Nebraska, USA, 2021(1). In September 2021, eight campylobacteriosis cases were identified in a town in Nebraska, USA. We assessed potential exposures for a case-control analysis. We conducted whole-genome sequencing on Campylobacter isolates from patients' stool specimens. We collected large-volume dead-end ultrafiltration water samples chlorination, after which water testing detected coliforms. One dead-end ultrafiltration sample yielded nonculturable Campylobacter and avian-specific fecal rRNA genomic material. Our investigation implicated contaminated, untreated, municipal water as the source. Results of microbial source tracking supported mitigation with continued water chlorination.                             Antimicrobial Resistance in Campylobacter coli and Campylobacter jejuni from Human Campylobacteriosis in Taiwan, 2016 to 2019. Campylobacter coli and Campylobacter Jejuni are highly resistant to most therapeutic antimicrobials in Taiwan; rapid diagnostics of resistance in bacterial isolates is crucial for the treatment of campylobacteriosis. We characterized 219 (40 C. coli and 179 C. jejuni , an extremely high proportion of C. coli (100%) and C. jejuni (88.3%) were multidrug-resistant, and a high proportion (62.5%) of C. coli isolates were resistant to azithromycin, erythromycin, and clindamycin, which would complicate the treatment of invasive campylobacteriosis in this country.

                            Risk factors for campylobacteriosis in Australia: outcomes of a 2018-2019 case-control study. We aimed to identify risk factors for sporadic campylobacteriosis in Australia, and to compare these for Campylobacter jejuni and Campylobacter coli infections. In a multi-jurisdictional case-control study, we recruited culture-confirmed cases of campylobacteriosis reported to state and territory health factors. We recruited 571 cases of campylobacteriosis (422 C. jejuni and 84 C. coli) and 586 controls. Important risk factors for campylobacteriosis included eating undercooked chicken (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] 70, 95% CI 13-1296) or cooked chicken (aOR 1.7, 95% CI 1.1-2.8), owning a pet dog aged < 6 months (aOR 6.4, 95% CI 3.4-12), and the regular use of proton-pump inhibitors in the 4 weeks prior

Following an initial reduction in human campylobacteriosis in New Zealand after the implementation of poultry food chain-focused interventions during 2006-2008, further decline has been relatively small.                             Burden of salmonellosis, campylobacteriosis and listeriosis: a time series analysis, Belgium, 2012 to 2020. Salmonellosis, campylobacteriosis and listeriosis are food-borne diseases. We estimated and forecasted the number of cases of these three diseases in Belgium from 2012 to 2020, and calculated the corresponding number of disability-adjusted life years (DALYs).                             Rifaximin fails to prevent campylobacteriosis in the human challenge model: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.
