Lesions on oral or ophthalmic mucosa (enanthem) may also be present. Prior to and concomitant with the rash, lymphadenopathy is observed in many patients, which is usually not observed in smallpox or varicella [2,6]. It should be noted that the clinical manifestations

Macules, petechiae, hemorrhagic blisters, pustular enanthem, mucositis, and halitosis were also among the most frequently described oral manifestations. The tongue was the most commonly affected site, followed by the palate and lip. Most of the reported cases were diagnosed only by the clinical aspect of the lesion associated with a positive SARS-CoV-2

SARS-CoV-2 infection: the same virus can cause different cutaneous manifestations: reply from the authors. Drago et al. are right to point out that our paper did not provide data on enanthems. As the data collection form did not include the description of mucous membranes, they might not have been explored in many patients. We have reported and included in the supplementary material a few cases that were noticed by their doctors and were the first descriptions of enanthem in COVID-19. Given the low number of cases and their nonsystematic acquisition, we avoided any analysis of these data.

, also known as rubeola, is one of the most contagious infectious diseases, with at least a 90% secondary infection rate in susceptible domestic contacts. It can affect people of all ages, despite being considered primarily a childhood illness. Measles is marked by prodromal fever, cough, coryza, conjunctivitis, and pathognomonic enanthem (ie, Koplik spots), followed by an erythematous maculopapular . Staphylococcal scarlet fever associated with staphylococcal enterotoxin M in an elderly patient. Staphylococcal scarlet fever (SSF) is characterized by an exanthem without enanthem, bullae, or exfoliation, and is known to be related to Staphylococcus aureus toxins, especially superantigens. It has been reported in children and young adults. Herein, we report the first case of an elderly patient

at the Department of Dermatology, University of Genoa, we recruited 76 women who developed PR during pregnancy. In 60 patients without known risk factors for intrauterine fetal death (30 with pregnancy complications and 30 without) we analyzed the pregnancy week of PR onset, presence of enanthem and of constitutional symptoms, PR body surface area involvement, age, and in 50 patients (20 with pregnancy complications and 30 without), the viral load of HHV-6 and HHV-7 (copies/mL). In logistic regression analysis, early onset of PR (p = 0.0017) and enanthem (p = 0.0392) proved to be significantly associated with pregnancy complications. HHV-6 viral load (copies/mL) (p < 0.0001), constitutional symptoms (p < 0.001), and PR body surface area involvement (p < 0.004) were also significantly associated
