Most commonly affects people between 40 and 60 years of age with overweight is the standard of care for acute heel pain, although 10% of cases are recalcitrant and unresponsive to non-surgical care after 12 months. In recalcitrant cases, surgery has been shown to be generally effective.Conservative treatment involves combination therapy (e.g., heel padding, shoe changes, low-Dye strapping, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and stretching exercises).DefinitionPlantar fasciitis

Comparison of tibial nerve pulsed radiofrequency and intralesional radiofrequency thermocoagulation in the treatment of painful calcaneal spur and plantar fasciitis: A randomized clinical trial Ultrasound-guided tibial nerve pulsed radiofrequency (US-TN PRF) and fluoroscopy-guided intralesional radiofrequency thermocoagulation (FL-RFT) adjacent to the painful calcaneal spur are two interventions for pain management in painful calcaneal spur (PCS) and plantar fasciitis (PF). This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of the two procedures. A prospective, randomized, single-blind study. Single-center pain clinic. Forty-nine patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomized into two groups. 25 patients (group U) received US-TN PRF at 42 °C for 240 s, while 24 patients (group F) received

Comparing two protocols of shock wave therapy for patients with plantar fasciitis: A pilot study. This pilot study primarily aimed to detect the adherence as well as the effect size required to estimate the actual sample size needed for a larger scale study to compare and evaluate the effectiveness of two extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) protocols along, with a physical therapy program in reducing pain and improving function among patients suffering from plantar fasciitis. The study also aimed to report the effects of the ESWT protocols used on pain and function. A total of 26 participants took part in the study, including 17 females and 9 males. The average age of the participants was 34 years with a body mass index (BMI) of 23 kg/m2. Participants were divided into three equal groups

Vibrio vulnificus (V. vulnificus) is a halophilic marine Gram-negative bacterium. Necrotizing fasciitis caused by V. vulnificus is a rapidly progressing clinical emergency . This report analyzes the clinical data of a pediatric case of V. vulnificus necrotizing fasciitis with septic shock, treated at Zhuhai Center for Maternal and Child Health Care in April 2024. The report also reviews the literature on pediatric V. vulnificus infection. A 26-month-old boy developed a V. vulnificus infection after being scratched by a sea bass. The patient experienced an acute onset of illness

Ultrasonography-Guided Dextrose Prolotherapy Versus Platelet-Rich Plasma Injections for the Treatment of Plantar Fasciitis: A Randomized Controlled Trial. Heel pain is prevalent in foot and ankle practice, with plantar fasciitis being a common cause of chronic heel pain in adults. It is a degenerative condition of the plantar fascia, rendering the term fasciitis inaccurate. The condition has several alternative names, including painful heel syndrome and heel spur syndrome. It is found that a significant number of people suffer from plantar fasciitis at some stage of their lives; athletes and women between 40 and 60 years and adults aged more than 65 suffer the most. Patients typically report tenderness at the medial aspect of the heel, and pain is mostly under the surface of the heel

Endoscopic Treatment of Chronic Plantar Fasciitis with Plantar Heel Spur Pain: A Combined Suprafascial and Infrafascial Approach. To determine whether a combined endoscopic suprafascial and infrafascial approach with medial and lateral portals is a safe and effective technique for the endoscopic treatment of chronic plantar fasciitis with plantar heel spur pain. An interventional, prospective study was conducted. A total of 61 patients with plantar fasciitis with plantar heel spur pain underwent an endoscopic plantar fasciotomy with plantar heel spur resection, using a combined suprafascial and infrafascial approach between January 2018 and August 2022. Periorbital nodular fasciitis: a case report. Nodular fasciitis (NF), also known as pseudosarcoma fasciitis, is defined as a benign, self-limiting, vascular, or fibrovascular proliferation. It is commonly found on the trunk and upper extremities. NF is rarely found in the orbit and periorbital regions, with only a few case studies reported since it was initially described by Font et al. in 1966

However, to our knowledge, few reports have analyzed the prevalence and risk factors of thoracolumbar fasciitis in OVCFs.
