Determining optimal timing of birth for women with chronic or gestational hypertension at term: The WILL (When to Induce Labour to Limit risk in pregnancy hypertension) randomised trial Chronic or gestational hypertension complicates approximately 7% of pregnancies, half of which reach 37 weeks' gestation. Early term birth (at 37 to 38 weeks) may reduce maternal complications, cesareans , stillbirths, and costs but may increase neonatal morbidity. In the WILL Trial (When to Induce Labour to Limit risk in pregnancy hypertension), we aimed to establish optimal timing of birth for women with chronic or gestational hypertension who reach term and remain well. This 50-centre, open-label, randomised trial in the United Kingdom included an economic analysis. WILL randomised women with chronic

The epidemiology of gestational diabetes, gestation hypertension, and anemia in North Palestine from 2018 to 2020: A retrospective study. In Palestine, women face a challenging environment and a demanding lifestyle, which puts them at a higher risk of experiencing complications during pregnancy. This study aimed to examine the risk factors linked with abnormal hemoglobin (Hb) levels, gestational diabetes (GD), and gestational hypertension (GH) among pregnant women. The results was compared between women residing in cities or villages areas and those in refugee camps. Medical records (N = 7889) for pregnant women at primary healthcare centers in the North West Bank were reviewed for sociodemographic and medical data along with the reported fasting blood sugar, hemoglobin, and blood pressure

Plasma metabolic profile reveals signatures of maternal health during gestational hypertension and preeclampsia without and with severe features. Preeclampsia, a pregnancy-specific syndrome, poses substantial risks to maternal and neonatal health, particularly in cases with severe features. Our study focuses on evaluating the impact of low molecular weight metabolites on the intricate mechanisms patients with gestational hypertension (GH), 43 with preeclampsia without (PE-), and 42 with severe features (PE+). Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and metabolite identification were conducted to establish the metabolomic profiles. Univariate and chemometric analyses were conducted using MetaboAnalyst, and correlations were performed using GraphPad Prism. Our study unveils distinct metabolomic

First trimester circulating miR-208b-3p and miR-26a-1-3p are relevant to the prediction of gestational hypertension. Gestational hypertension (GH) is linked to an increased risk of cardiometabolic diseases for both mother and child, but we lack reliable biomarkers to identify high-risk women early in pregnancy. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNA that have emerged as promising biomarkers

Severe Maternal Morbidity Associated With Chronic Hypertension, Preeclampsia, and Gestational Hypertension. Chronic hypertension and preeclampsia are leading risk enhancers for maternal-neonatal morbidity and mortality. Severe maternal morbidity (SMM) indicators include heart, kidney, and liver disease, but studies have not excluded patients with preexisting diseases that define SMM. Thus, SMM combining chronic hypertension status and the hypertensive disorders developing during pregnancy, defined as follows: (1) chronic hypertension with superimposed preeclampsia, (2) chronic hypertension and no preeclampsia, (3) no chronic hypertension with preeclampsia, (4) gestational hypertension, and (5) no chronic hypertension and no preeclampsia or gestational hypertension (reference group). Pregnancy outcomes in women with gestational hypertension and preeclampsia at Paropakar Maternity and Women's Hospital, Nepal: A retrospective study. Gestational hypertension and preeclampsia are the most common types of hypertensive disorder in pregnancy and these conditions are associated with adverse maternal and fetal outcomes. This study aims to determine the differences in pregnancy outcomes in women with gestational hypertension and preeclampsia. A retrospective study was done at The Paropakar Maternity and Women's Hospital, a tertiary level hospital, in the Kathmandu, Nepal. Pregnant women who had given birth at the hospital between September 17 and December 18 of 2017 were included. Data were obtained from the non-digitalized hospital records. Genetic Associations of Circulating Cardiovascular Proteins With Gestational Hypertension and Preeclampsia. Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDPs), including gestational hypertension and preeclampsia, are important contributors to maternal morbidity and mortality worldwide. In addition, women with HDPs face an elevated long-term risk of cardiovascular disease. To identify proteins in the circulation associated with HDPs. Two-sample mendelian randomization (MR) tested the associations of genetic instruments for cardiovascular disease-related proteins with gestational hypertension and preeclampsia. In downstream analyses, a systematic review of observational data was conducted to evaluate the identified proteins' dynamics across gestation in hypertensive vs normotensive pregnancies

Maternal gestational hypertension, smoking and pre-eclampsia are associated with metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease in overweight offspring. Due to a steep increase in obesity, metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) has also become the most common chronic hepatic condition among children and adolescents. Various maternal and pregnancy-related factors have the offspring's present BMI-SDS, sex, and maternal prepregnancy overweight, were child's older age (odds ratio [OR] 1.16, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.06-1.28), maternal gestational smoking (OR 2.01, 95% CI: 1.16-3.47), gestational hypertension (OR 3.44, 95% CI: 1.08-11.0) and pre-eclampsia (OR 2.93, 95% CI: 1.15-7.45). High AMH levels are associated with gestational hypertension in patients with PCOS who underwent IVF/ICSI-ET. Patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) have a higher risk of obstetric complications. The association between anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) and gestational hypertension in these patients is poorly understood. To determine the association between serum AMH levels and gestational hypertension in patients with PCOS undergoing fresh embryo transfer. This retrospective study included 649 patients with PCOS who had singleton live births after undergoing fresh embryo transfers. The association of AMH with gestational hypertension in these patients was estimated before and after propensity score matching (PSM). Finger pulse plethysmography predicts gestational hypertension, preeclampsia and gestational diabetes. Pregnancy complications related to hypertension can affect both mother and newborn. Pulse wave attenuation (PWA) captured through fingertip photoplethysmography (PPG) provide valuable insights into maternal acute hemodynamic and autonomic vascular function. Here, we quantify the nocturnal dynamics of PWA during early pregnancy and assess their association with the development of gestational hypertension, preeclampsia and gestational diabetes. PWA dynamics were assessed on overnight polysomnography-derived PPG signals from a cohort of 2714 pregnant women (mean age: 26.8 ± 5.5 years) enrolled in the Nulliparous Pregnancy Outcomes Study: Monitoring Mothers-to-Be (nuMoM2b). We determined
