Exercise interventions for adults after liver transplantation. The finding that exercise is inversely related to metabolic syndrome after transplantation is novel and suggests that exercise interventions might provide a means for reducing metabolic syndrome complications in liver transplantation recipients. The use of exercise for increasing the physical activity daily levels by more frequent , higher intensity, and longer duration of training sessions, or the sum of these components may be necessary to counteract the effects of the pretransplant reduced activity, metabolic disturbances, and post-transplant immunosuppression, as well as improve physical function and aerobic capacity following liver transplantation. Regular physical activity has a long-term positive impact on recovery

Chinese guidelines for minimally invasive donor hepatectomy in living donor liver transplantation Minimally invasive surgeries are increasingly central to modern medicine, particularly in liver transplantation. These techniques, which offer reduced trauma, precise operations, minimal bleeding, and swift recovery, are, however, unevenly adopted across China. Only a limited number of centers Physicians of Chinese Medical Doctor Association convened a group of national liver transplantation experts to establish a guideline development committee. This committee conducted a thorough review of relevant literature, evaluated existing guidelines and consensus, and assessed factors such as the evidence base, patient preferences, and the cost-effectiveness of interventions within China. Liver Transplant Society of India Guidelines for Liver Transplant during COVID-19 times Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has affected liver transplantation in many ways. There is risk of infection to the transplant recipients; and COVID-19 is associated with significant risk of mortality in patients on wait list. The Liver Transplant Society of India (LTSI) has prepared guidelines regarding selection of adult and pediatric patients for liver transplantation, transplant for acute liver failure, use of deceased donor organs, transplant techniques and minimally invasive donor hepatectomy, pre- and postsurgery testing for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)-related coronavirus disease 2019 in donors and recipients, role of COVID-19 antibody testing, shifting

A snapshot of challenges and opportunities faced by the scientific workforce in liver transplantation - a survey of the International Liver Transplantation Society (ILTS). Basic & translational research (B&TR) in liver transplantation (LT) underwent considerable changes and shifts over the past decade. To capture the current landscape and future potential of B&TR in LT, we conducted an online survey within the International Liver Transplantation Society (ILTS) community. The survey aimed to collect comprehensive data on the respondents' characteristics, qualifications, experiences, and research activities, providing the present state and future directions of B&TR in LT. Between October 2023 and January 2024, an online survey consisting of 35 key items was distributed to the ILTS community

Liver transplantation and COVID-19 (Coronavirus) infection: guidelines of the liver transplant Society of India (LTSI) The Liver Transplant Society of India (LTSI) has come up with guidelines for transplant centres across the country to deal with liver transplantation during this evolving pandemic of COVID-19 infection. The guidelines are applicable to both deceased donor as well as living donor liver transplants. In view of the rapidly changing situation of COVID-19 infection in India and worldwide, these guidelines will need to be updated according to the emerging data.

Recent outcomes of liver transplantation for Budd Chiari Syndrome - a study of the European Liver Transplant Registry (ELTR) and affiliated centers. Management of Budd-Chiari Syndrome (BCS) has improved over the last decades. The main aim was to evaluate the contemporary post-liver transplant (LT) outcomes in Europe. Data from all transplanted patients from 1976-2020 was obtained from the European Liver Transplantation Registry (ELTR). Patients<16yrs, with secondary BCS or hepatocellular carcinoma were excluded. Patient- (PS) and graft survival (GS) before and after 2000 were compared. Multivariate Cox regression-analysis identified predictors of PS and GS after 2000. Supplementary data was requested from all ELTR-affiliated centers and received from 44. 808 patients were transplanted

Offering LT to frail patients may reduce waitlist mortality but may increase post-LT mortality. LT survival benefit is the concept of balancing these risks. We sought to quantify net survival benefit with LT by liver frailty index (LFI). We analyzed
