Measuring trust with the Wayfinding Task: Implementing a novel task in immersive virtual reality and desktop setups across remote and in-persontest environments. Trust is a key feature of social relationships. Common measures of trust, questionnaires and economic games, lack ecological validity. Hence, we sought to introduce an immersive, virtual reality (VR) measure for the behavioral assessment of trust across remote and in-person settings, building on the maze task of Hale et al. (2018). Our 'Wayfinding Task' consists of an interconnected urban environment for participants to navigate on the advice of two characters of differing trustworthiness. We present four studies implementing the Wayfinding Task in remote and in-persontesting environments and comparing performance across head
The role of emotions as mechanisms of mid-test warning messages during personalitytesting: A field experiment. This study focuses on the role of emotions in personnel selection and faking research. In particular, we posit that emotions are likely to be activated when applicants receive warning messages from organizations. Drawing on Nabi (Nabi, , 9, 1999, 292) cognitive-functional model of discrete negative emotions, we propose and empirically test the effects of three discrete negative emotions (guilt, fear, and anger) triggered by a warning message during a personalitytest on personality score accuracy and perceived test fairness. Participants in this within-subjects field experiment were 1,447 applicants for graduate school at a large public university in China. They completed two
Rapid Emergence of SARS-CoV-2 in the Greater New York Metropolitan Area: Geolocation, Demographics, Positivity Rates, and Hospitalization for 46,793 PersonsTested by Northwell Health. In March 2020, the greater New York metropolitan area became an epicenter for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. The initial evolution of case incidence has not been well residence; and hospitalization. From 8 March through 10 April, a total of 26 735 of 46 793 persons (57.1%) tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. Males of each race were disproportionally more affected than females above age 25, with a progressive male predominance as age increased. Of the positive persons, 7292 were hospitalized directly upon presentation; an additional 882 personstested positive
Using Overt and Covert Items in Self-Report PersonalityTests: Susceptibility to Faking and Identifiability of Possible Fakers Self-report personalitytests widely used in clinical, medical, forensic, and organizational areas of psychological assessment are susceptible to faking. Several approaches have been developed to prevent or detect faking, which are based on the use of faking warnings
Novel exposure units for at-home personalizedtesting of electromagnetic sensibility. Previous experimental studies on electromagnetic hypersensitivity have been criticized regarding inflexibility of choice of exposure and of study locations. We developed and tested novel portable exposure units that can generate different output levels of various extremely low frequency magnetic fields (ELF-MF
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Funding for HIV Testing Associated With Higher State Percentage of PersonsTested. To assess the association between state per capita allocations of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funding for HIV testing and the percentage of personstested for HIV. We examined data from 2 sources: 2011 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System and local health departments in the United States. The association between the state fixed-effect per capita allocations for CDC-funded HIV testing and self-reported HIV testing in the last 2 years among persons aged 18 to 64 years was assessed with a hierarchical logistic regression model adjusting for individual-level characteristics. The percentage of personstested for HIV in the last 2 years. In 2011
Patient-centered feedback on the results of personalitytesting increases early engagement in residential substance use disorder treatment: a pilot randomized controlled trial. Patient-centered models of assessment have shown considerable promise for increasing patients' readiness for mental health treatment in general, but have not been used to facilitate patients' engagement in substance use residents in treatment and a stronger alliance with the treatment program one month after treatment entry. The feedback intervention was also associated with a longer length of stay in treatment, although this effect did not reach statistical significance. The findings highlight the clinical utility of providing SUD patients with patient-centered feedback based on the results of personalitytesting
APPLICANTS' STRATEGIC USE OF EXTREME OR MIDPOINT RESPONSES WHEN FAKING PERSONALITYTESTS. Faking, the intentional distortion of answers to personalitytests, is likely a complex process. In particular, participants in previous research have mentioned that they used different kind of strategies to appear more hirable, including systematically more extreme or more midpoint responses. However
Delinquency and Peer Acceptance in Adolescence: A Within-PersonTest of Moffitt’s Hypotheses We tested 2 hypotheses derived from Moffitt's (1993) taxonomic theory of antisocial behavior, both of which are central to her explanation for the rise in delinquency during adolescence. We tested whether persistently delinquent individuals become more accepted by their peers during adolescence

to individuals other than the persontested, although in this case an adult consents to NBS on behalf of the newborn rather than the testing individual consenting to it themselves. MSAC noted that such ‘secondary benefits’ of NBS are allowed for in the NBS NPF decision-making criteria. On balance, MSAC recommended that NBS for X-ALD report screening results for all newborns rather than only males, primarily
to be fully addressed and the model would need to be re-specified. The resubmitted model should be based on the trial data and present a stepped analysis with the incremental cost per persontested. Any reduction in time to treatment and sequalae avoided and how these transform into QALYs should be clearly presented in accordance with the Technical Guidelines (pg 7, MSAC 1627 PSD).
