QbTest for the assessment of attentiondeficithyperactivitydisorder (ADHD) QbTest for the assessment of attentiondeficithyperactivitydisorder (ADHD) Medtech innovation briefing Published: 7 March 2023 www.nice.org.uk/guidance/mib318 Summary • The technology described in this briefing is QbTest. It is used to help assess attentiondeficithyperactivitydisorder (ADHD) and to evaluate that the potential benefits were quicker assessment, and cost savings because of clinician time saving and efficiency of the pathway. • The cost of QbTest is £23 to £96 per assessment (excluding VAT). There is some evidence of cost reduction as well as return on investment. The technology QbTest (Qbtech Ltd) can be used to aid the assessment of attentiondeficithyperactivitydisorder (ADHD) and for evaluating
Methylphenidate for children and adolescents with attentiondeficithyperactivitydisorder (ADHD). Attentiondeficithyperactivitydisorder (ADHD) is one of the most commonly diagnosed and treated psychiatric disorders in childhood. Typically, children and adolescents with ADHD find it difficult to pay attention and they are hyperactive and impulsive. Methylphenidate is the psychostimulant most often prescribed, but the evidence on benefits and harms is uncertain. This is an update of our comprehensive systematic review on benefits and harms published in 2015. To assess the beneficial and harmful effects of methylphenidate for children and adolescents with ADHD. We searched CENTRAL, MEDLINE, Embase, three other databases and two trials registers up to March 2022. In addition, we checked

Coping strategies and symptoms of Adjustment Disorder among adults with AttentionDeficitHyperactivityDisorder (ADHD) during the Covid-19 pandemic. The current study examined whether coping strategies and symptoms of Adjustment Disorder in adults with ADHD differed from what was observed in the general adult population during the Covid-19 pandemic, and compared the extent to which coping strategies and symptom levels of Adjustment Disorder were related to ADHD. This cross-sectional study was based on survey data collected during the spring of 2021 from 231 adult ADHD patients in specialist care and 1148 volunteers without ADHD in Sweden. The survey included questions about sociodemographic and clinical characteristics, along with the Brief-COPE and Adjustment Disorder-New Module 8

Efficacy of internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy for medicated adults with attention-deficit/hyperactivitydisorder (ADHD): A randomized controlled trial. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is an effective treatment for adults with attention-deficit/hyperactivitydisorder (ADHD), but its use is limited by poor accessibility and time constraints-barriers that internet-based CBT (iCBT) may help overcome. This trial aimed to explore the short- and long-term efficacy of iCBT in medicated adults with ADHD. Eighty-six adults with ADHD were randomized into two groups: the iCBT combined with medication group (iCBT+M, n = 43) and the medication-only group (n = 43). The iCBT+M group received 12 weeks of iCBT with ongoing medication, while the medication-only group continued with medication
Clinical symptoms and functional impairment in attentiondeficithyperactivitydisorder (ADHD) co-morbid tic disorder (TD) patients: a cluster-based investigation. Attentiondeficithyperactivitydisorder (ADHD) and tic disorder (TD) are two common neurodevelopmental disorders that frequently occur in childhood, and these two disorders often coexist. Cluster analysis provides a novel perspective on the heterogeneity of these commonly observed clinical disorders. We recruited patients with comorbid ADHD and TD from Beijing Children's Hospital between May 2022 and August 2023, collecting data on their symptoms and functional impairments. The number of clusters was determined using the elbow method, and K-means clustering was conducted. Fisher discriminant analysis and silhouette score were used for validation
Socioeconomic disparities in attentiondeficithyperactivitydisorder (ADHD) in Sweden: An intersectional ecological niches analysis of individual heterogeneity and discriminatory accuracy (IEN-AIHDA). We aimed (i) to gain a better understanding of the demographic and socioeconomical distribution of ADHD risk in Sweden; and (ii) to contribute to the critical discussion on medicalization, i.e ., the tendency to define and treat behavioural and social problems as medical entities. For this purpose, we analysed the risk of suffering from ADHD in the whole Swedish population aged between 5 and 60 years, across 96 different strata defined by combining categories of gender, age, income, and country of birth. The stratified analysis evidenced considerable risk heterogeneity, with prevalence values ranging
Internet addiction and its relationship with attentiondeficithyperactivitydisorder (ADHD) symptoms, anxiety and stress among university students in Malaysia. There is growing evidence on the contribution of psychological factors to internet addiction; yet it remains inconsistent and deserves further exploration. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the psychological symptoms (AttentionDeficitHyperactivityDisorder (ADHD) symptoms, stress, depression, anxiety and loneliness) and internet addiction (IA) among the university students in Malaysia. A total of 480 students from different faculties in a Malaysian public university participated in this study. They were selected by simple random sampling method. They completed self-administered questionnaires including
AttentionDeficitHyperactivityDisorder (ADHD) and the gut microbiome: An ecological perspective. AttentionDeficitHyperactivityDisorder (ADHD) is an increasingly prevalent neuropsychiatric disorder characterized by hyperactivity, inattention, and impulsivity. Symptoms emerge from underlying deficiencies in neurocircuitry, and recent research has suggested a role played by the gut microbiome . The gut microbiome is an ecosystem of interdependent taxa involved in an exponentially complex web of interactions, plus host gene and reaction pathways, some of which involve neurotransmitters with roles in ADHD neurocircuitry. Studies have analyzed the ADHD gut microbiome using macroscale metrics such as diversity and differential abundance, and have proposed several taxa as elevated or reduced
Attention-deficit/hyperactivitydisorder (ADHD) in cultural context II: a comparison of the links between ADHD symptoms and waiting-related responses in Hong Kong and UK. The concept of attention-deficit/hyperactivitydisorder (ADHD) is considered to have cross-cultural validity, but direct comparisons of its psychological characteristics across cultures are limited. This study investigates whether preschool children's ADHD symptoms expressed in two cultures with different views about child behaviour and parenting, Hong Kong and the UK, show the same pattern of associations with their waiting-related abilities and reactions, an important marker of early self-regulation. A community sample of 112 preschoolers (mean age = 46.22 months; 55 from UK, 57 from HK) completed three tasks measuring
